It's full blown pumpkin season!

Are you a pumpkin fan or not so much? Hi Reader, I can still remember the time when pumpkin wasn't all that big of a deal here in the Netherlands. Sure you could find a stray butternut squash here and there but more than a pumpkin soup wasn't really made. O boy how that changed! And I'm glad it did too, because I love pumpkin! And while you can find pumpkin all year round, there is no better pumpkin season than autumn! So to give you a head start I've collected 15 of my favorite pumpkin...

Affogato

A fancy word for ice coffee Hi Reader, It suddenly popped up everywhere. At least here (in the Netherlands) you can now find affogato almost in every single restaurant or café, while up until recently no one had ever heard of this Italian ice coffee. And while I am not one to follow all the food hypes, I couldn't resist making this insanely delicious ice coffee. So you can try it too! And trust me it is the easiest ever. With just two ingredients! Affogato How good does this look right?...

Do more with popsicles! Hi Reader, Over here it seems that summer has finally started. It took long enough with endless amounts of rain, but now that june is almost over, it seems the good weather has finally arrived. And whenever the sun shines I feel the need to make popsicles. Not only are they the easiest ice cream out there but they're also pretty healthy. Depending on what you put it them of course, but with a bit of yogurt and fresh fruits, you can't really go wrong! About Simone Hi...

Strawberry season is upon us! Hi Reader, Having just come back from a trip to Scandinavia, where it was mostly raining, I still have a hard time thinking about summer, but it's here! My favorite strawberry season has arrived. Now I know you can get strawberries all year round but there is nothing better than summer strawberries. Sweet and delicious! So in this newsletter I'm sharing my favorite strawberry recipes! I also have a quick question for you so I can make sure I create the recipes...

Rose water sponge cake Hi Reader, I've got two of my favorite dessert for you this week. A rose water sponge cake and a lemon buttermilk panna cotta. I love panna cotta; it's such an easy dessert to make despite it's reputation of being difficult. I don't know what is difficult to be honest as it's literally mixing the ingredients and pouring into a ramekin. Wait a couple of hours for the panna cotta to set and you're done! Desserts don't get any easier than that! About Simone Hi there! My...

Crispy chili oil Hi Reader, It suddenly became a "thing"; crispy chili oil. So naturally I had to try for myself what the fuss was all about. And I was hooked! Crispy chili oil is one of those condiments that really go with so much different dishes. I add it to a dressing, stir fry dishes or simply scoop a little bit over my fried eggs. And the good news is; you can easily make crispy chili oil at home! Check how to do so here. But be warned; it's addictive stuff! About Simone Hi there! My...

Chicken bone broth Hi lovely reader, The first time I made my own bone broth I was totally blown away with how good it tasted. Even without adding any salt it had a depth of flavor that was so good! And that color! For making the bone broth I've used my slow cooker as it does require time to get the best results. The slow cooker is the perfect machine to do just that. It's also a great way to use leftover chicken bones and you can find out how to make it here. Bone broth has loads of collagen...

Dip m dumplings Hi lovely reader, If you love dumplings and dim sum, what is the standard dipping sauce you use for those? Do you go for soy sauce or maybe sweet chili sauce? Did you know that the traditional dipping sauce is actually Chinese black vinegar? I didn't know this until recently but I've made two delicious dipping sauces to serve with your next dim sum party. Of course you can easily use the sauces for anything else too! Love of all things Greek Once upon a time, Greece was one of...

Cheeeesy stuff Hi lovely reader, The last couple of days the weather has been lovely and I find I am more inclined to eat delicious and healthy salads when that happens. But if I do make a salad I love to add some kind of cheese. Blue cheese is a favorite but since not everyone loves blue cheese as much as I do, variation is key. Feta is another cheese love, but rest assured; you can swap most of the cheese used in any of the recipes for whatever your favorite is. For this newsletter I've...
