What do China and Greece have in common?

Dip m dumplings

Hi lovely reader,

If you love dumplings and dim sum, what is the standard dipping sauce you use for those? Do you go for soy sauce or maybe sweet chili sauce? Did you know that the traditional dipping sauce is actually Chinese black vinegar?

I didn't know this until recently but I've made two delicious dipping sauces to serve with your next dim sum party. Of course you can easily use the sauces for anything else too!

Love of all things Greek

Once upon a time, Greece was one of the first countries I visited with my (ex) boyfriend. And it was immediate love. The food, the country, the people. So in this newsletter also some Greek inspiration!

If you've ever been to Greece you have no doubt seen it on the menu (or visiting a Greek restaurant will have the same effect) dolmades or stuffed grape leaves. Making them at home might seem daunting but is actually quite easy with this delicious recipe.

Homemade dolmades

Pantzarosalata

Another Greek favorite of mine is this beetroot salad. It's made with yogurt, cooked beetroot and pistachio. Perfect for hot summer days!

Moussaka

I like to call it the Greek version of the lasagna. Moussaka...

Greek pasta salad

And to finish this small list of Greek favorites I have a not so traditional version of the Greek salad. A Greek pasta salad!

Pointed cabbage

Are you a pumpkin fan or not so much? Hi Reader, I can still remember the time when pumpkin wasn't all that big of a deal here in the Netherlands. Sure you could find a stray butternut squash here and there but more than a pumpkin soup wasn't really made. O boy how that changed! And I'm glad it did too, because I love pumpkin! And while you can find pumpkin all year round, there is no better pumpkin season than autumn! So to give you a head start I've collected 15 of my favorite pumpkin...

Affogato

A fancy word for ice coffee Hi Reader, It suddenly popped up everywhere. At least here (in the Netherlands) you can now find affogato almost in every single restaurant or café, while up until recently no one had ever heard of this Italian ice coffee. And while I am not one to follow all the food hypes, I couldn't resist making this insanely delicious ice coffee. So you can try it too! And trust me it is the easiest ever. With just two ingredients! Affogato How good does this look right?...

Do more with popsicles! Hi Reader, Over here it seems that summer has finally started. It took long enough with endless amounts of rain, but now that june is almost over, it seems the good weather has finally arrived. And whenever the sun shines I feel the need to make popsicles. Not only are they the easiest ice cream out there but they're also pretty healthy. Depending on what you put it them of course, but with a bit of yogurt and fresh fruits, you can't really go wrong!
